The Teletronix LA-3A Classic Audio Leveler was introduced in 1969 with evolution in mind. Teletronix’s release of the LA-3A compressor was an embarkment away from their famous LA-2A tube circuitry design. The LA-3A included aspects and concepts put forward by the highly regarded Putnam-designed 1176LN Limiting Amplifier (another treasured piece of onboard gear at our NYC recording studio), to deliver a distinct hybrid sound.
